Hannah’s World: Shell Shocked

Hi. I’m Hannah.

I love water. Water is my favorite thing right now. I watch it in the sink. I play with it in the bath tub. I splash it around my food bowl. I play with the water that the Kitten Mom puts on the plants. I love to knock over the water jug over to make the water come out. Water is fun…

There were big crashes and lights and loud noises and these huge blops of water fell right out of the sky and hit me right through the window screen. I didn’t do anything and IT HIT ME!!! And the noise just kept getting louder once the water blops started.

I wailed.Β  Kind of a lot.

The Kitten Mom carried me until it stopped.

Then I had cookies.

Hannah, 5 months old.

Note from Kitten Mom: After almost no rain in two months we had a real thunderstorm with huge drops that had to be melted hailstones along with thunder and lightening: Hannah’s first real thunderstorm.

  1. I hope that the rain has put out some of the fires. We are lucky that Ylva isn’t frightened of thunderstorms or fireworks….now a pigeon or a postman, well that’s another matter!

    1. I think that the rain is helping the fires, but the impact for me is that the smoke is getting cleaned out of the air. I was just shocked that Hannah was afraid of the rain; the horrific fireworks of the 4th of July didn’t even phase her. Maybe it is her age?

  2. Hannah: It’s brave of you to like water. Many kitties consider it scary like the storm. Alway remember that your kitten Mom will take care of you!
I hope the heavy rain cleaned the air of smoke:)

    1. Hannah: water, and jumping onto quilts hung on the walls, are my favorite toys right now. I just don’t like the water to attack me!!
The rain had helped immensely with the smoke. I watered outside this evening with no problems. πŸ™‚

  3. Hannah, you keep having fun and exploring! Your Kitten Mom will always be there to take care of you when water or anything else acts up on you πŸ™‚
So glad you are getting some rain – clearing the air, helping with the fires and with the plants and all that it does. But sorry that it scared Hannah!
