life with a chronic disease and a really big yarn stash
The WIP basket is empty!
It took a month, but look at what has happened:
Yep. This is an event of such astonishing rarity it makes a blue moon seem common: every single one of the languishing items hanging out in the WIP basket has been finished. The basket is now empty. MacKenzie was all astonishment for at least 20 seconds before he moved in to make the basket his own. It took the whole month of May, but I now have all of my needles and stitch markers back where they belong.
I took really good notes while knitting this time so that I can post the pattern in my next blogging adventure. If you want more info you can find my project notes here. That yarn is Tosh Merino DK in the colorway NIght Hawk. I was worried about how it would knit up, but I like the finished project.
I’m off to cast on a shawl using yarn from the stash and a pattern a friend gave me.
I weave, knit and read in Aurora, Colorado where my garden lives. I have 2 sons, a knitting daughter-in-law, a grandson and two exceptionally spoiled kittens. In 2014 I was diagnosed with a serious rare autoimmune disease called systemic sclerosis along with Sjogren's Disease and fibromyalgia.

Gorgeous cowl and fabulous socks! I can’t say that I’ve ever gotten all my WIPs done. Maybe the first thing I ever knit:)
It was kind of thrilling to have a totally clean Ravelry projects page… 🙂
Do you sell your works? They are really good 🙂
I’very started talking to a friend about opening an Etsy shop together. She makes stitch markers, but I would like to sell knitted and woven items.
Great!!!! Let me know when it will be ready:))
Cat looks as good as your knitting!
WoAH, they all look so pretty, and I didn’t know one could finish all of their wips…
Well, there this really old WIP I’m ignoring…
Empty WIP basket = plotting new projects. Can’t wait to see what you will be working on!
It’s a shawl! I’ll get a picture up soon. I’ve also been spending too much time weaving…
WOW! Wish my work in progress was empty. Instead, I just keep adding to it. LOVE the socks, had to look a couple of times. Thought there was something wrong with my eyes!
They are nice and comfy to wear even if they are so lacy. Fun design, even if it is visually confusing at first…
Those socks are to die for! Amazing! 😊 (the cowl is pretty too but the socks, wow!)
I just love them too. I’m tempted to make another pair. They really need a tonal yarn to show off the lace, and I have some nice indigo blue in the stash…
Now seems like a good time to cast on 😉
It’s always a good time to cast on… that’s how I get so many WIPs!! 🙂
I’m so jealous right now. I don’t think my WIP basket will ever be empty! 🙂
Sadly, it is filling right back up. I now have three new projects going…
Wow… congrats on WIPs well done and finding the bottom of your WIPs basket!
The only thing more astonishing would be finding the bottom to mine!!!
Fun post to share on my blog’s fb page 🙂 💜 Jackie@KWH
