The Mother of Cats isn’t feeling well today so I am hanging around with her on her bed. I’m helping her write on her computer right now! I’m such a good boy!

Notes from the Mother of Cats:
I’ve gone off my immunosuppressant drug so that I can get my Covid booster on Monday. Sigh. There was a big pressure change yesterday with a cold front that triggered some symptoms along with the predictable flare of my disease that has me back in bed for the weekend.
I’ve been in lockdown for two years and I desperately want the booster because my next round of medical appointments starts in another week. I also want to start knitting with my new-found groups, too. I want some of my life back!!
Please think of me and the other people in a situation like my own (high risk, immunosuppressed or immunocompromised, and struggling with chronic conditions that complicates their lives on the best of days) when you are out in public.
And wear your mask!
ps: I threw out the palm last night. It wasn’t a match for the CoalBear and I was afraid it would make him sick. Next up: a Boston fern.

He’s really rocking the Maine coon cat look these days. Not what I expected at all, but when you adopt a kitten from a shelter it is always an adventure! He is the sweetest little guy ever. 🙂

I’m getting it tomorrow! I’m rebounding today as the air pressure comes up after a weekend storm so I’m in a much better mood. I’m getting so much knitting done! 🙂
You’re a good boy, Mateo. It’s nice to see you and Hannah getting along so well. JoJo doesn’t seem to like her new little brother. Hopefully that will improve with time. Glad you can get the booster. Take care of yourself!
Mateo: well, she did hide from me a lot for the first few months because I kept whapping her tail and biting on her. Now that I’m a bigger boy we are hanging out more for naps. She even chases the laser light with me! I still hog it, though…
Yay for booster! I got one last summer so this is my second booster. Not a moment too soon. 🙂

Oh, Coalbear! you look like my grandnephew cat (Fluff Monster) and have charming ways of my Rameses the great! He’s a chewer too and particularly likes cardboard and other papers (including some Casapinka pattern print outs!) I have to thank you for giving my daughter an ‘up’ moment today ( i may have mild covid) (or i may not!)(for Pete’s sake!)She loved this so much she forgot to worry for awhile! Your Human is an inspiration- and so are you !
CoalBear: thank you! Would you like to play with the laser light with me? I like smoked salmon, too… My big sister Hannah always lays on top of the Casapinka papers but I prefer to just chew them.
Oh, no. You are in Covid Limbo? Yikes! I hope that you don’t have it, and if you do, that it will be mild and behave itself. Get well again quickly!! Fluff Monster is just a wonderful name. My last fluffy cat went by Fluff Muffin, but I’m thinking that Mateo is more of the monster variety in the fluff department. His fur is so dense! I’m pretty sure that he is something like a Maine coon now that the ruff has appeared so I looked them up online. Yikes! They grow for 2-4 years! He’s already almost Hannah’s size at 10 months. I’m in for some major fluff in the months and years to come.
And Hannah- you are my favourite Tuxie Lady- my 2 are both guys and they think you’re cute!
Hannah: I am cute, aren’t I. My mom says that I’m the most endearing cat she has ever seen. I get more cookies that way. >^..^<
Coal Bear, you are such a good helper to Mother of Cats and to your sister! And what a handsome boy you are, too 🙂 Hannah, you are so adorable and a good big sister. Marilyn, so glad you can get your booster tomorrow. Feel better!

I hope the booster goes well! We’ve stayed masked up around here; hopefully people in your area are taking precautions still, too.
I got the booster this afternoon with no problems. I had to get it at a grocery store pharmacy but almost everyone in there was masked up correctly and I gave a Murderbot-level bit of side eye to anyone who wasn’t and they stayed away from me. People here are not all masking like they should but the huge numbers in my state (Colorado in the US) over the last week seem to have made more people behave better.
I’m glad you were able to get the shot without any problems! People are generally well behaved where I am (greater San Francisco Bay Area) but the population density still means numbers get scary quickly.
Channeling Murderbot seems like a great way to get people to keep their distance.
There’s a big conservative community where I live and unfortunately there are people here that are pretty determined to show their fearlessness while out in public. I have been mocked while wearing a mask! Do you see why I channel Murderbot out in public?
Ugh. I don’t blame you for channeling Murderbot then.
